President Obama has been the president of the United
States for the last 4 years. He ended the war in Iraq. He pasted Obama care.
Now, President Obama is running for reelection as the Democratic Party’s 2012
presidential candidate.
Obama wants to fix the economy and reduce the national
deficit. His plan is to raise taxes for the wealthy and for every $2.50 in tax
cuts call for $1 in revenue. Obama has
not exactly stated what programs he would cut. Obama is against subsidizing big
oil companies. Obama wants to bring American businesses back to the US and
prevent companies from going overseas. He will not give companies that send
jobs overseas tax breaks. He will give tax breaks to companies that decide to
stay in the US and provide jobs for Americans.
Obama is for the DREAM Act (Development, Relief, and
Education for Alien Minors) which will provide a pathway for minors who have
gone to college or joined the military who were born to illegal immigrants to
become US citizens. He wants to create a path for illegal immigrants who have
already come here and are not criminals to become citizens. Obama announced
this June that illegal immigrants brought here under the age of sixteen and are
currently under 30 will not be deported.
In the case of foreign affairs with the Middle East, Obama
wants to get our troops out of the Middle East by 2014. He is against letting
Iran obtain nuclear capability to prevent them from creating nuclear missiles.
Obama also does not want the US to build nuclear missiles.
The federal health care reform laws, or Obama care, pasted
under Obama’s administration will be become active if Obama is reelected. The
purchasing of health insurance will be mandatory for all US citizens. Health
insurance companies will not be able to drop people when they become sick.
Insurance companies will not be able to set lifetime limits or annual
restrictions on the amount of healthcare a person receives. Obama promises that
thousands of people with preexisting conditions will be able to purchase health
insurance. He is promising that Obama care will provide security for people
with health insurance. He says that the Obama care will lower the cost of
health insurance making it easier for people not insured to afford it.
