Daniel Bongino is the
Republican candidate running for Senator in the 2012 election. This former
Secret Service Agent has positions on many major issues. Bongino believes that
the economy should be focused directly on providing for a solid reduction in
tax rates along with a fair and foreseeable system of rules and regulations
regarding the people. He also believes
that the corporate along with the capital gains tax rates must be reduces and
tax exemptions for businesses eliminated in order to make innovations,
investments, and future productivity possible.
On education, Bongino knows
what he wants. That is, to prioritize education of all levels. He believes
that, as the United States falls farther behind our global competitors in
performance, our educational system is failing our children. Bongino thoroughly supports using tools such
as school choice, charter schools, merit based may systems for educators,
“parent triggers”, and year round schooling. He would love to give teacher the
bedrock of our educational system and allow them to work in a system not
affected by bureaucracy and old-fashioned work rules.
Daniel Bongino supports the
block granting of Medicare funds to the States. By doing this, he believes that
this would immediately create 50 distinct places to create new ideas and
methods. Daniel thinks that the Medicare
system should remain an option for people 55 and older. As for younger
citizens, a different system of quality care should be established.
Bongino believes he knows
why the national deficit occurred. He says that it happened because of the of
the increasing role of government in the role of “third party payer” in a “fee
for service” model which discouraged competition on the supply side and price
refinement on the demand side.
“The United States military
is the most respected fighting force in the world” once said Bongino. He
believes that a strong national defense must be our first priority in an
uncertain world such as our own. He thinks
that the United States should be demanding more from aid recipients such as
Pakistan and Afghanistan. Bongino
believes that it is intolerable to spend American tax payer money to build
foreign schools when places like Maryland are suffering.
