Jill Stein, Green Party Candidate for President

Jill Stein, a 62 year old mother from Massachusetts, is running for President on the Green party ticket in the 2012 Presidential election. Stein was a Candidate for Governor of Massachusetts in 2002 and 2010.  She is a physician and has been advocating environmental-health since 1998.

Stein and the “Green New Deal” (a specific 4 part program of solutions for quickly moving America out of crisis into a secure green, environmental friendly future), have agreed to attack the United States’ unemployment by creating a new “Economic Bill of Rights.” These Rights will provide citizens with the right to employment through a complete employment system. The system can create up to 25 million jobs by starting a “nationally funded, but locally controlled direct employment initiative.”

Jill Stein plans to break up banks that seem to be “too big to fail”, starting with Bank of America. She would suggest cuts in defense spending by putting an end to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. She also plans to close 140 military bases in foreign countries. She would like to see government provide “complete, affordable, quality health care for every American through an improved Medicare-for-all insurance program.”  Stein opposes Obamacare.

When asked “Should the U.S. intervene in the affairs of other countries” Stein replied, “No, we should oppose wars of aggression and entangling alliances with other nations”. She thinks that the country should end its travel ban on Cuba, as well as its trade embargo. Stein thinks that when pursuing U.S. interests, our country should listen to other countries. She believes that we should work together, and not try to accomplish a goal on our own.

It seems as if Jill Stein has some good ideas and plans for America if the country should fall into her hands. She has generic political plans, as well as plans to benefit the environment. Vote Stein, Vote Green.
