Civil Marriage Protection Act

Voting for this referendum would change Maryland’s civil marriage laws to allow same-sex couples to obtain a civil marriage license. This also establishes that clergy are protected from having to perform a marriage ceremony in violation of their religious beliefs and declares that every religion has control of who may marry within their faith.
